Motivation

We need to focus on the endpoints required to implement the DNS record resource in the server manager. A good starting point is an endpoint to create a new record.

We're not going to worry about authentication and authorization at this point. We just want the bare minimum to implement the DNS record resource.

Solution

Well that escalated quickly 😅 creating a DNS record also meant:

• Implementing a persistence layer. Decided on drizzle ORM
• implementing an authentication layer. Using better auth, it provides a lot of features, doesn't require a separate server, and should support API keys when we get to needing them.
• Domains are going to be purchased as part of a order for a server, so also wound up implementing the order schema 🤦

Also had to implement a mock server for porkbun to support the simulation tests.

Also wound up re implementing Postgres-migrate to support Postgres.js rather than pg-node 🤦
